Happy World Down Syndrome Day!

• Today is World Down Syndrome Day! It is a day of celebration for a people who are the greatest joy-bringers I know, and they feel, think, and hurt just like you and me. They are widely misunderstood and undervalued, so today’s celebration is a great way to bring awareness. We are learning so much from our friends who have DS and of course from Ruthie! Many people with DS grow up to go to college and have careers.. but for the ones who don’t – their lives are just as important! Take today to teach your children or your community about people with Down Syndrome.
